What is CNC Routing?
CNC routing (computer numerical control) is a manufacturing process where a machine with a rotating cutting tool, called a router, is used to cut, shape, or carve materials. It’s an automated process that follows a computer-aided design (CAD) file as a guide, ensuring precision and repeatability. We use our CNC machine to help create unique special event signage components that bring dimensionality and flair to every piece we create.
What types of materials can be routed?
Here are some common examples of the types of materials that are CNC Routed in our shop:
- Plastics
- Aluminum
- Wood
- Acrylic
- Foamboard
- Gatorboard
- PVC
- Dibond
What types of results?
CNC Routers are known for their versatility in handling a wide range of materials with spectacular results:
- Precision: CNC routers can produce highly accurate cuts and intricate details that are difficult to achieve manually.
- Versatility: They can work on a variety of materials and perform numerous functions such as cutting, drilling, engraving, and carving.
- Efficiency: CNC routers can quickly produce complex designs and are ideal for both one-off custom projects and high-volume production runs.
- Design Flexibility: Since the machine follows digital designs, it can create virtually any shape or pattern programmed into the CAD software.
- Consistency: CNC routing ensures that every piece is identical, which is crucial for large production runs where consistency is key.
CNC routing is widely used in various industries such as woodworking, sign making, aerospace, and automotive manufacturing due to its ability to produce detailed and consistent results on a large scale. Our facility CNC helps add dimension to special event signs.
